Christmas Countdown Day 4

"On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me..." a fashionable scarf to keep me warm! Everyone loves wearing scarves,  they keep you warm and can sometimes be the perfect touch to make an outfit. With this is mind I have decided to do my top 4 scarves from the high street this season.
#1 The Tartan Scarf- New Look
I received this scarf for my birthday back in October and love it for its on trend style, shape and design.  Not only is it lovely and warm,  you get 2 scarves in one featuring a tartan side and a dog tooth print on the other.  Available in red or blue tones (or be my mum and buy both! )
#2 Stockwell Scarf- Jack Wills This scarf is perfect for wearing all year round, it's pretty feathered pattern adding elegance to any outfit, meaning it is even great for posh dinner parties.
#3 AMANDIE COLOUR BLOCK FRINGED TASSLE SCARF- Miss GuidedI love the vibrant colour of this scarf, matched perfectly with the slate grey which is subtly flecked within the yellow. This scarf will help make your monochrome outfit pop and will brighten up any dreary winter day. #4 Staring at Stars Knitted Snood- Urban OutfittersThis is a perfect seasonal addition to your wardrobe; it's warm colour the perfect wintery colour palette and the Nordic print adding a touch of festivity to an outfit.

Christmas Countdown

I can't believe its been 3 months since I last posted! I've been inundated with coursework since starting my Foundation Art course but am back for Christmas in which I am going to 'attempt' to do a blog post everyday on the run up for Christmas Day (we shall see how successfully this goes...). In this countdown I will be posting mostly Christmassy things such as DIY's, fashion posts and probably quite a lot of Pinterest inspos!

Okay, because 'tis the season to be jolly' my first Christmas post is welcoming the return of the Christmas jumper, something I get far too over excited about and am always tempted to wear before December.... Below I have shown you guys a really simple way of wearing your Christmas knits without just wearing denim jeans.

When i went outside i just added a blue gilet (body warmer) and wore my Caterpillar boots to keep my toes warm! Adding a bobble hat completes the look, making you appear like you've just walked out of a Jack Wills shoot! ;)

See you tomorrow!

love
Lottie :) x

Perfect Pinterest Outfits

I'm slightly addicted to Pinterest, as I'm sure many of you are too, constantly pinning fashion pics, artwork and of course some mouth wateringly yummy (yet highly calorific) food.
In this post I wanted to share with you some of my favourite summer outfits I have recently been pinning to my fashion board which provide great alternatives to just a plain vest and shorts.

This first image is from fashforfashion.com. I've always loved the way that a simple denim shirt can gently toughen up the delicacy of lace, with the combination of colours being perfect for the summer palette.
Lace Dress

This next outfit is great as it's cool but classy. Shirts are a favourite of mine so this is a go to outfit for me, although I haven't managed to find any white shorts as cute as the ones below!

Stripes & whites. Summer look

Here we have an incredibly popular outfit for hundreds of girls out there, the checked (flannel) shirt providing an edgy tomboy feel to denim shorts with simple tees.

Lastly, another shirt (which I lust over every time I see it) and shorts combo with this pic showing how cool an outfit can look mixed with lots of necklaces in gold or bronze hanging loosely to create a boho vibe.

Summer Wishlist

Summer seems to finally be creeping its way in from amongst the cloud and rain meaning I can finally dust off those sandles and get ready to skip in the sun! (yes I do still occasionally skip...)

Most recently I've been scouring the website of one of my favourite fashion retailers: boohoo.com who offer a wide range of styles with so much to offer meaning there's something for everyone! The prices are also fantastic, with students getting 10% off on everything when signed up to myunidays.com which also gives you exclusive discounts from Apple to Topshop.

Two of my favourites from boohoo include this beautiful short woven jacket in a selection of blues perfect for summer (but would also fit into any season of wardrobe), as well as this fitted playsuit which I think would work brilliantly teamed with brogues for a smart or casual occasion.
Now I realise that trainers aren't for everyone and on a hot sunny day they're not the first thing you have in mind to slip your feet into, but these Nike's are just amazing. With fabric designed by Liberty London, they add a girlish charm to the traditional basketball shoe and the subtle colourings mean they are wearable with a variety of clothing. One thing I don't understand about the Nike blazer shoes is the fact that they haven't covered the whole tongue and have left foam visible! At least on the Liberty London style they've only left the foam at the top visible!

Please feel free to leave my some comments as I'm always up for a chat! Also, I want to know what your favourite summer piece is and if anyone has the answer to the Nike foam question then please tell me!

Cool and Casual

So today it was actually hot in Cornwall (*runs around in glee*) and so of course I got my shorts out straight away! Unfortunately my day consisted of revising for A-level exams but this didn't stop me from wearing clothes that were fashionable but still casual.

Firstly I picked out my light denim shirt and kept it open, slung on top of a simple blue vest top. I then paired this which my lace skirt but had to change after my dad wanted some help with some building work! Nevertheless the shorts (from Bershka)I swapped for the skirt were still quite fun and summery! To add a more fashionable and on trend hint to my outfit I 'borrowed' my mum's fairly boho necklace in shiny silver and bright vibrant blue. Shoes wise, I wore my gladiator sandals from New Look, paired with a straw hat and some Ray Ban style sunnies!

Beautiful Barcelona

So last week I went to Barcelona for five blissful days, taking in the culture of this stunning city and enjoying the hustle and bustle as opposed to the little village I live in in the Uk.
Not only has this city got the most awe inspiring architecture, varying from traditional to more contemporary work by Gaudi, it also offers a variety of different places to eat, from tapas to the most delicious chicken teriyaki at La Creme Canela and amazing vegetarian food at Teresa Carles which any meat lover would appreciate!
Whilst in Barcelona the weather (to a Brit) was lovely,  with the sun shining and a cool breeze in the air. Younger locals in the vicinity were dressed in their skinny jeans and all sported a variety of fashionable trainers from Nike to Converse. Although this is quite a lot like in the UK, the Spanish manage  to make their look effortless but still stylish, paired with their shining golden tans.

The best shoes for the job were my Converse! I must've walked about 6 miles everyday!

Roll Top x Pork Pie Hat

This post is purely to show off my lovely new hat... which I am struggling to find the accurate name of, so I've called it a roll top, pork pie hat combo! I bought this beauty for around £8 from H&M and would never stop wearing it if it weren't for the torrential rain almost everyday! (Raincoat has been my staple...) Anyway, here are a few pics of my hat styled with an outfit I wore to college (if I look a bit 'puffy' is due to wearing lots of layers under my shirt!)

Shirt: Sainsburys, Jumper: Lottie Loves in Looe, Leather Jacket: H&M (In Italy!), Hat: H&M, Jeans: also sainsburys, Chelsea Boots: They're actually my old riding boots!

Outfit of the day #4 - The Addams Family

"They're altogether ooky, the Addams Family!". The Addams Family has been an outfit inspiration recently, more specifically, Wednesday Addams. After watching the film and taking inspiration from one of Russell and Bromley's campaigns, I thought I'd try the shirt under a dress combo, pairing a stiff collared shirt with a tight skater style black dress. Additionally, to make the break the black up slightly, I added a red belt and red tights with a long necklace matching the colour trio. In the photos (which I'm sorry are slightly bad quality but it was getting dark when I took them) I am also wearing black legwarmers, purely because it is freezing in England and I wanted something to peep over my black chelsea boots!

Three ways to wear a Christmas jumper

People tend to have a marmite relationship with Christmassy jumpers, you either love them or you hate them! I personally, LOVE christmas jumpers and have started to build quite a collection.
Above is my new Christmas jumper from Fat Face, which is festive but not over the top.

In picture 1 is the outfit I wore on Christmas Day (I'll post it soon!), featuring a simple skirt from H&M, spotty knitted tights from Fat Face, brown Chelsea boots from New Look and my new favourite hat, also from Fat Face (I must admit I'm going through a bit of a Fat Face phase!). I really like this look as its quite feminine but also warm and cosy!

Picture 2 is a more casual look, with a white shirt (TU), acid wash skinny jeans (H&M) and once again my chelsea boots, this time with a pair of angora long socks (Marks and Spencer) that will peep over my boots.

In the final picture I chose my new favourite leather jacket with wooly collar from Topshop and a pair of black leggins for a warm but comfortable look.

Totally Topshop

After long days of college and evenings of coursework, I love to use the little space between coursework and crashing into bed, to browse and surf the web, spending the majority of the time on online shopping.
Recently, I have been lusting after a few bits and bobs in Topshop, but having no money at the moment due to going to London for a couple of days, I can wish but can't buy!
First up on the wishlist are the Blackwatch Check Leggings  which I discovered on Stylish Behaviour's blog, currently selling for £25.
My second top pick is the Wool Biker Jacket, which my lovely friend Maisie was sporting at college (she has great style!). When seeing it, I got very jealous and still lust after it whenever she's wearing it! I'm not 100% sure if this one is exactly the same as Maisie's but it's just as gorgeous!
Now if you read my blog, you'll know I have a slight craze and love for shoes, especially when they come under the category 'boy meets girl' (was I destined to be the opposite gender?!). Anyway, when I saw this next pair of boots my heart leaped and then sunk after reading their hefty price tag. However, I've posted a picture of the Traditional Brogue Boots by Loake anyway to show my appreciation and so that you can also drool at them in your heart's desire!
And finally, another pair of boots in the same colour as the beauties above. The Affanita Mid Heel Chelsea boots are an autumn staple, keeping you feet warm and super stylish. At a reasonable price of £62, I will definitely keep my eyes on these as well as drop many hints for Christmas!

My New Autumn Shoes!

My YouTube channel

Okay, so I set up a youtube channel a while ago but hadnt really posted much on it but finally I have found some spare time to do so! (the joys of easy upload via iPad!)

If youve got a minute, please feel free to watch any of my videos about me rambling on about recent buys and fashion bits and bobs I like (basically, my blog in video form!)

The video below is of my latest shoe purchase with me expressing just how much I love them!

Brilliant Burgundy

I'm not usually one for girly shoes, but when I saw these double strapped ballet pumps, I knew I had to have them! There I was, trying not to spend all my wages (unsuccessfully of course) when they popped up from the corner of my eye!

Although the colour is more autumnal, these shoes will be great for all seasons (unless it snows...). My choice of clothing to pair with these feminine shoes would be with a pair of skinny jeans, and blazer for colder days or a skirt and t-shirt for the summer.

Weekend Wishlist

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while; A-Levels are ridiculously time consuming!
This post is simply a little wish list of clothes that have been catching my eye recently on various online retail websites which I love but cannot necessarily afford (sigh).

Piece 1 is a brilliant Burgundy Tailored Blazer from Topshop. I love blazers; the way they fit in at the waist and can smarten up any pair of jeans, creating the ultimate 'boy meets girl' look.

2 and 3 are both from one of my favourite brands: Jack Wills, a fairly high end store with quality tailored looks and logo printed t-shirts. These two wool blazers are something I can only dream of purchasing (due to a hefty price tag!) but are definitely a staple in any heritage lovers wardrobe. Both blazers are made in collaboration with British cloth manufacturer, Moon, meaning by purchasing the jacket you're also helping the British clothing industry (a valid reason for making yourself feel better after buying it?).

High street and online retailer Urban Outfitters provide the masses with quirky alternative clothes in great designs. The 'Staring at Stars Lace Back Playsuit' (4) would be great to wear as casual daywear but could also be styled into the night with a leather jacket and boots with a wedged heel. Urban Outfitters describe it as 'folksy-inspired...featuring a...bold print' with colours making it perfect for autumn/winter.

Finally, nĂºmero 5 is just a simple striped top that I have wanted for a while now as they go with a variety of things and are suitable for every season. This particular one is from River Island.

Country Classic

Autumn is here meaning heritage wear is back! I am ever so slightly obsessed with the classic style, featuring tweed, knitted jumpers and boots. The added bonus of heritage wear is warmth, covering yourself up with layer upon layer from the quilted gilet to the original Barbour jacket (if I could afford one!).

For my outfit I teamed a white shirt and dark green gilet with denim shorts to create a more casual look. My scarf, from Primark, added a zing of colour to my clothes and the horse print featured on it meant it added to the persona of 'I'm off to ride my new pony' (something I can only dream of). Finally, my shoes. Featuring a bronze buckle to the side with a fairly masculine shape, these shoes are a great copy of Russell and Bromley's  'Grosvenor Double Monk Flatshoes' which I have been drooling over but reeling away from the price. Once again Primark is my friend meaning I got these gorgeous little shoes for a lovely little price.
