Perfect Pinterest Outfits

I'm slightly addicted to Pinterest, as I'm sure many of you are too, constantly pinning fashion pics, artwork and of course some mouth wateringly yummy (yet highly calorific) food.
In this post I wanted to share with you some of my favourite summer outfits I have recently been pinning to my fashion board which provide great alternatives to just a plain vest and shorts.

This first image is from fashforfashion.com. I've always loved the way that a simple denim shirt can gently toughen up the delicacy of lace, with the combination of colours being perfect for the summer palette.
Lace Dress

This next outfit is great as it's cool but classy. Shirts are a favourite of mine so this is a go to outfit for me, although I haven't managed to find any white shorts as cute as the ones below!

Stripes & whites. Summer look

Here we have an incredibly popular outfit for hundreds of girls out there, the checked (flannel) shirt providing an edgy tomboy feel to denim shorts with simple tees.

Lastly, another shirt (which I lust over every time I see it) and shorts combo with this pic showing how cool an outfit can look mixed with lots of necklaces in gold or bronze hanging loosely to create a boho vibe.

Summer Wishlist

Summer seems to finally be creeping its way in from amongst the cloud and rain meaning I can finally dust off those sandles and get ready to skip in the sun! (yes I do still occasionally skip...)

Most recently I've been scouring the website of one of my favourite fashion retailers: boohoo.com who offer a wide range of styles with so much to offer meaning there's something for everyone! The prices are also fantastic, with students getting 10% off on everything when signed up to myunidays.com which also gives you exclusive discounts from Apple to Topshop.

Two of my favourites from boohoo include this beautiful short woven jacket in a selection of blues perfect for summer (but would also fit into any season of wardrobe), as well as this fitted playsuit which I think would work brilliantly teamed with brogues for a smart or casual occasion.
Now I realise that trainers aren't for everyone and on a hot sunny day they're not the first thing you have in mind to slip your feet into, but these Nike's are just amazing. With fabric designed by Liberty London, they add a girlish charm to the traditional basketball shoe and the subtle colourings mean they are wearable with a variety of clothing. One thing I don't understand about the Nike blazer shoes is the fact that they haven't covered the whole tongue and have left foam visible! At least on the Liberty London style they've only left the foam at the top visible!

Please feel free to leave my some comments as I'm always up for a chat! Also, I want to know what your favourite summer piece is and if anyone has the answer to the Nike foam question then please tell me!

Cool and Casual

So today it was actually hot in Cornwall (*runs around in glee*) and so of course I got my shorts out straight away! Unfortunately my day consisted of revising for A-level exams but this didn't stop me from wearing clothes that were fashionable but still casual.

Firstly I picked out my light denim shirt and kept it open, slung on top of a simple blue vest top. I then paired this which my lace skirt but had to change after my dad wanted some help with some building work! Nevertheless the shorts (from Bershka)I swapped for the skirt were still quite fun and summery! To add a more fashionable and on trend hint to my outfit I 'borrowed' my mum's fairly boho necklace in shiny silver and bright vibrant blue. Shoes wise, I wore my gladiator sandals from New Look, paired with a straw hat and some Ray Ban style sunnies!

Beautiful Barcelona

So last week I went to Barcelona for five blissful days, taking in the culture of this stunning city and enjoying the hustle and bustle as opposed to the little village I live in in the Uk.
Not only has this city got the most awe inspiring architecture, varying from traditional to more contemporary work by Gaudi, it also offers a variety of different places to eat, from tapas to the most delicious chicken teriyaki at La Creme Canela and amazing vegetarian food at Teresa Carles which any meat lover would appreciate!
Whilst in Barcelona the weather (to a Brit) was lovely,  with the sun shining and a cool breeze in the air. Younger locals in the vicinity were dressed in their skinny jeans and all sported a variety of fashionable trainers from Nike to Converse. Although this is quite a lot like in the UK, the Spanish manage  to make their look effortless but still stylish, paired with their shining golden tans.

The best shoes for the job were my Converse! I must've walked about 6 miles everyday!

Summer Shopping Hauls

This summer I got a job, meaning I bought clothes, shoes and then more clothes again...
Okay, I admit it, I'm a shopaholic, but then who isn't if they have money to spend and a love of fashion!

Today I simply wanted to share with you a few of my summer purchases which luckily came together to create a rather nice outfit!

Outfit of today #2

Today I felt like blogging but had no idea what to post so I though 'hey I like what I'm wearing' and so thought I'd share it with you!

For this outfit I paired a blazer, shirt and denim jean shorts to create a smart casual look. The colours I have chosen also give a summery feel to my look without being too formal. I also added my bronze/gold elephant necklace from Accessorise to add a bit of bling!

Sorry about my major posing in this photograph, however I think the background and filter I used in Instagram helps to give the overall photograph a calm sophisticated look.

Please comment on your thoughts about my look and what you yourself are wearing this summer!

Festival Fever!

'Tis the season for festivals and summer's in the air! Festival features in magazines are popping up all over the place, showcasing the funkiest wellies and some crazy styles.
Festivals are home to all waves of fashion across the globe, from red Indian headdresses to cowboy style fringing (okay I know they're from the same country but you get my gist right?!).

I personally have only had the opportunity to go to one major festival: T4 on the beach, where I saw the fantastic Hoosiers and the ...umm... interesting, leg breaking Jedward. Since then I have only been able to watch the long footage of Glastonbury on TV and online as well as drooling over some of the headliners at numerous festivals.

Some of my favourite festival pieces from the high street this year are the forever trending denim and the love of Aztec prints (of which I have several items in!)

One of my favourite Aztec print tees from the world of the online retailers is from boohoo.com.
This colourful, bold print is perfect combined with denim shorts and will last through the colder months paired with jeans and some pumps.

Dungarees are also a mahoosive favourite item of mine. Here is a pic of me in my dungarees from New Look (I'm a size 6-8 so luckily I fit in the kid's section, meaning I got them for almost half the price of the adults ones!). I have paired these dungarees with a long sleeve tee from Primark with cut away shoulders.

I want to know if you've been rocking out at any festivals and what you've been wearing, so feel free to comment below, I will almost always reply!

The Royal Cornwall Show

Although living in Cornwall may seem like you're distancing yourself from the rest of the world, it is great for when the weather is (sometimes) sunny or if you're interested in all things Cornish!
Last week I visited one of Cornwall's biggest agricultural events; The Royal Cornwall Show, which features hundreds of different stalls and events from stunt horse riding by 'The Stampede Stunt Company' to the Joules clothing stand (where I drooled at the clothes and sighed at the prices!). I also had a great and very yummy vegetarian homemade burger and a fantastically English Cream Tea!

I took a few pictures on my phone, featuring some highlights of the show.

A montage of the outfit I wore, a spitfire, sheep made from plants, the Joules stand, some birds of prey and some flowers from the Flower Tent.

Titan the very scary robot!

So, if you're ever in Cornwall during July, I would highly recommend going to the Royal Cornwall, even if you just go for the Cream Tea!

Summer Fashion

Summer is here (finally!) which means out come the shorts and bikinis and in go the wooly snoods! Fashion magazines are bursting with summer styles, from denim dungarees to metallic skater skirts, there is bound to be something for everyone this season.

Some of my favourite items include pretty lacy dresses (Jack Wills have a gorgeous one in their catalog this summer), combined with tough ankle boots and a denim jacket to give the outfit a more rugged look. Another of my favourite styles is the floral china teapot look with dainty blue detailing on white collared shirts. A particular favourite item of mine from this trend being an embroidered dress from Miss Selfridge (£85).

The sports luxe look is still popular this season featuring a 7 page 'mish mash' of the style with graphic prints in the June 2013 edition of Miss Vogue and bloggers such as Susie Bubble rocking some Nike trainers.

Despite all the new trends for the summer season, my favourite thing had to be the fact that even if you're not feeling particularly fashionable, you can still look and be cool wearing high waisted shorts, a t-shirt, converse or vans and some Raybans (be they real or fake Primark ones for a £1!).
